Overview of the Road Safety Reel Making Competition
The Road Safety Reel Making Competition, organised by the Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), IIT Madras, under the aegis of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), invites citizens to create short, original reel videos that communicate important road safety messages. The competition encourages responsible road behaviour and civic responsibility among all road users through concise and impactful visual storytelling.

Event Description:
Turn your creativity into a call for safer roads! Reels2Road invites you to create short, powerful reels that raise awareness about road safety and inspire responsible behaviour among all road users. Use your storytelling skills to spark positive change, because every safe journey begins with you.
Terms and Conditions:
Open to Indian residents; participants below 18 years old must submit parental/guardian consent
Teams allowed (max 5 members).
Reel duration: 30 to 90 Seconds, suitable for Instagram/YouTube Shorts, public posting required.
Include brief description (50+ words), and no watermarks.
Entries must be original with no copyright infringing.
Can be in English or any regional language with English subtitles.
Must strictly follow the given theme (Road safety)
The reel shouldn’t contain any material that supports illegal practices including smoking or drinking.
No plagiarism, No offensive, inappropriate, or harmful content
Video format: Vertical (9:16 ratio)
Post the reel on your official Instagram/ YouTube account by collaborating @coers_iitm page and tagging @morthindia & @iitmadrasofficial
CoERS may use entries for promotion (with credit) with royalty-free rights.
Organizers not liable for technical issues or disputes. By entering, participants agree to these terms.

1st Prize: ₹10,000
2nd Prize: ₹5000
3rd Prize: ₹3000
Winner Selection Criteria: Winners will be evaluated by a jury based on:
The clarity of the road safety message
Creativity of storytelling
Visual and technical quality
Originality (no plagiarism)
Adherence to rules (length, hashtags)
Public impact (likes, shares, comments)
Overall effectiveness in promoting safe practices.
