The Road Safety Training Programme on Data-Driven Hyperlocal Interventions (DDHI), conducted by the Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), IIT Madras, in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, was designed to strengthen district-level capacity for addressing road safety challenges through data-driven action and stakeholder coordination. The programme brought together officials from the District Administration, PWD, NHAI, Police, Health, Education, and other key departments responsible for road safety implementation.
The training introduced participants to the DDHI framework and its role in helping districts identify local road safety risks, prioritise interventions, and monitor progress using field-level data. Participants received hands-on training on the Field Perception Survey (FPS) and Trauma Care Preparedness Level (TPL) applications, along with demonstrations of the Sanjaya platform, enabling them to collect, analyse, and utilise local data for informed decision-making.
Sessions included practical demonstrations, discussions on field implementation, survey procedures, data collection methodologies, and the application of road safety audits and trauma care preparedness assessments. The programme also provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss local road safety challenges and explore coordinated approaches for addressing them.
As part of the programme, stakeholders discussed district-level action plans leading up to 21 July, with a shared commitment to support the observance of Zero Accident Day through coordinated road safety initiatives across Ambedkar Nagar.
