Blood Donation Drive for Thalassemia Patients, September 2024

September 27, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Thalassemia is a condition where the blood carries less hemoglobin – which means that the blood carries less oxygen. Patients with severe cases of thalassemia require frequent blood transfusions – about once in two weeks – otherwise the condition can be fatal. India has the largest number of children born with Thalassemia, which can have severe socio-economic consequences in the future.

The Centre of Excellence for Road Safety at RBG Labs, IIT Madras has partnered with the Voluntary Health Services or VHS to conduct a blood donation drive for Thalassemia patients in Chennai.

We actively encourage you to donate so that someone less fortunate may get a fresh lease of life.

Join us on Friday, 27 September 2024 at 303, New Academic Complex – 1 (Krishna Chivukula Block), IIT Madras from 10am to 5pm and give a fresh lease of life to those in need.

Click here to view the Google Maps location for the venue.

Refreshments and certificates will be provided to all donors.

You can check out the impact of our previous donation drive here:
