Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), RBG Labs, IIT Madras, is a think tank funded by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. We provide guidance and expertise to various stakeholders, including state governments and industry bodies, on all aspects of road safety. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, we adhere to the principle of an Integrated Systems approach, focusing on the 5E’s: Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency, and Education, bolstered by Empathy (Human Factors). We are looking for a Vehicle Crash Investigator.
What are we looking for in you:
Ability to work in a cross-functional team and eager to learn and grow
Willingness to travel anywhere in India
Ability to read, write and converse in Hindi and English
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to conduct road crash investigation, which involves evidence gathering from the scene and vehicle, correlating the contacts to the occupant injury, and correlation of injury of the occupants involved in the crashes
Can reconstruct the accident with simulation software
Can evaluate the deficiencies and suggest corrective measures on the ground as per the standards like IRC, CMVR, MVA etc
Can train the stakeholders across the parameters of crash
Can advise and creatively resolve any emerging problems/deficiencies
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelors/Masters/ in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
1 – 2 years of relevant experience in crash or vehicle inspection
Adequate knowledge of vehicle safety systems and road safety traffic laws
Knowledge of automobile technologies and vehicle safety
Prior experience with MS Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Preferable if candidate knows and have experience working on LS dyna, ANYS, PC-Crash, PAM CRASH and IRC Codes
