The Principal’s Conclave on Road Safety Education is organised by the Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), IIT Madras as part of National Road Safety Month 2026. The conclave brings together school principals, education leaders, industry representatives, and administrators to engage in focused discussions on the importance of early road safety education.
The event provides a platform to highlight the role of school leadership in shaping safe road behaviour among young road users through consistent learning, institutional commitment, and everyday practice.
Young road users represent one of the most vulnerable groups on Indian roads, with a significant proportion of road accident fatalities occurring among individuals below 25 years of age. Schools play a critical role in influencing attitudes, habits, and behaviour during formative years.
