Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), RBG Labs, IIT Madras, is a think tank funded by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. We provide guidance and expertise to various stakeholders, including state governments and industry bodies, on all aspects of road safety. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, we adhere to the principle of an Integrated Systems approach, focusing on the 5E’s: Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency, and Education, bolstered by Empathy (Human Factors). Our mission is to enhance road safety on both a national and global scale, with a firm commitment to saving lives.
We are looking for a Road Safety Auditor/Engineer.
What are we looking for in you:
Ability to work in a cross-functional team and eager to learn and grow
Willingness to travel anywhere in India
Proficiency in analyzing existing road infrastructure to identify safety hazards and areas for improvement
Capable of conducting On Field Surveys, Road Assessment Safety Audits, and Blackspot Analysis across states
Ability to evaluate deficiencies and suggest corrective measures on the ground as per standards
Skill in suggesting improvements in assessment and audit methodologies based on field visits and stakeholder feedback
Capacity to provide advice and creatively resolve emerging problems/deficiencies
Ability to train stakeholders in road safety engineering
Proficient in monitoring project progress and documentation
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelors/Masters/PhD/PostDoc in Civil/Transportation Engineering
Preferred proven experience in Road engineering specially Road Audits/Design
Knowledge of design and visualizations software in Road Engineering
Project management and supervision skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
