Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), RBG Labs, IIT Madras, is a think tank funded by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. We provide guidance and expertise to various stakeholders, including state governments and industry bodies, on all aspects of road safety. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, we adhere to the principle of an Integrated Systems approach, focusing on the 5E’s: Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency, and Education, bolstered by Empathy (Human Factors). We are looking for a Extended Reality Engineer
What are we looking for in you:
Ability to work in cross functional team and openness to learn and grow
Able to work with teams to understand, gather requirements and prepare a detailed requirement document
Ability to create, model, and simulate the augment/virtual/extend reality objects
Ability to design a UX/UI for augment/virtual/extended reality
Ability to develop a hardware to integrate the augment/virtual/extended reality application
Develop products (up to TRL 7) and perform user trials in field
Ability to do detailed documentation of the performed analysis
Eligibility Criteria:
Hands-on experience of 1-2 years using the Q-GIS, Python, R and other programming languages to create layers, perform analysis, and generate graphs and inferences
Hands-on experience in using visualisation tools like unreal, unity or blender to generate AR/VR/XR objects, videos and models
Hands-on experience in using documentation tools like MS Word/Overleaf and other tools to prepare detailed documentation
Decent understanding of state-of-art technologies, preferably IOT, VR/AR/XR, computer vision, and Remote sensing are preferrable
