TARA is a comprehensive accident reporting system developed by RBG Labs, IIT Madras as an easy to use RADMS interface to further the data-driven transportation safety framework developed by RBG Labs. All key stakeholder Departments, i.e., Highways, Transport, Police, Health and Education contribute to the TARA ecosystem as either data provider or user for the furtherance of a common goal of zero accidental deaths.
Pilot testing of TARA mobile interface for RADMS was deployed in two districts, i.e., Kanchipuram (39 stations) and Dharmapuri (20 stations). An 8-inch tablet with a hard cover was procured through ELCOT and the devices were handed over to district police Headquarters at Kanchipuram and Dharmapuri after installing TARA interface.

Hands-on training for entering accident data based on real life accidents by looking at accident videos were provided to the police officers. A continuous support in clarifying doubts and difficulties in entering data through TARA interface is being provided by the RBG Labs team
Multiple inputs on implementation are being identified from the pilot studies to make the iRAD ecosystem work better. The success of any monitoring system will be in its ability to be continuously evolving based on feedbacks.
