
The National Road Safety Hackathon 2025 is organized by the Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), RBG Labs, IIT Madras. It is focused on the theme “AI in Road Safety”, aiming to encourage the development of innovative, technology-driven solutions to improve road safety through artificial intelligence.
Participants are invited to attempt any one of the three topics:
- Development of Estimator Tool for Intervention
- Comparative Analysis of Road Infrastructure Elements
- Road Safety Intervention GPT
Who can participate?
- Students, engineers, and problem-solvers with a strong interest in ethical technology and innovation are welcome to participate. No professional qualifications are required.
- Minimum age for participation: 15 years.
Team Composition:
- Team participation with maximum size of 2
Prize Pool:
- Winners will receive cash prizes from a ₹90 K prize pool, along with exclusive job and internship opportunities.
- All participants who successfully clear Stage 1 and make a valid submission will be awarded an official participation certificate.
Timeline:
STAGE 1
- Registration and submissions open on 18th Oct 2025
- Submissions close on 17th Nov 2025
STAGE 2
- Details will be communicated to all the shortlisted participants
Data Protection
- By participating, individuals grant CoERS, RBG Labs, IIT Madras a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use their submitted materials for non-commercial purposes across official websites, social media platforms, and printed publications.
- Participants must provide valid proof of identity, age, and place of residence upon request. CoERS, RBG Labs, and IIT Madras reserve the right to verify eligibility and disqualify entries in the event of any rule violations.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify the competition schedule if necessary.
- Any breach of the competition rules will result in immediate disqualification. The organizers’ decision will be final and binding on all participants.
